Both decks are limiting what players can do, but Lavinia is not outright preventing the game from continuing against opponents who are playing fairly. Time will tell with this one, because at the time of writing the lists I have seen others propose are not entirely degenerate
When that deck works it doesnt need to counterspell creatures all that often
You can also look for abilities paid for with life, sacrifices, discard, and other alternate resources which could help squeeze in more crime for less mana
Its counterpart from the TCG turned out to be no slouch itself
Having to use your mana on the turn where you want to play what you tutored for, gives more information to your opponents
Green gets the most access to token generation in the set, with Thallid, Thallid Devourer, and Elvish Farmer each using spore counters to create 1/1 Saproling tokens
